Flying knee on the pads at Kiatphontip Muay Thai camp, Bangkok

A day of training at an authentic Bangkok camp

From the sunrise run to evening clinch — here is what two sessions a day at Kiatphontip actually feels like.

Wondering what daily life at a Muay Thai camp is really like? Here is a typical training day at Kiatphontip.

Morning — 07:00

The day starts with a run to wake the body up and build your engine. Back at the camp, you will shadow box, then move onto the bags and into pad rounds with a trainer. Mornings often include boxing and sparring a few days a week, finishing with conditioning.

Midday — rest & refuel

The hottest part of the day is for eating, resting and recovering. Train & Stay guests get a proper Thai meal; most people nap, stretch or relax in the shade.

Afternoon — 15:00

A lighter warm-up run and skipping, then the main work: pads, bags, technical sparring and — a Muay Thai signature — long clinch rounds that can run close to an hour.

Evening

Dinner, recovery and sleep. Some evenings, visitors head out to watch the fights at one of Bangkok’s stadiums — an experience in itself.

Six days a week of this, with Sunday to rest, and you will be amazed how fast you improve.
