Kiatphontip is a working Muay Thai camp with roots in southern Thailand and a home on the quiet western edge of Bangkok.
The Kiatphontip name was built at a fighting camp in Phattalung, in the south of Thailand — a province that has produced generations of hard, technical fighters. In 2008 the gym opened its Bangkok home in Salathammasop, Thaweewatana, on the western edge of the city.
It was a deliberate choice: far enough from the traffic and heat to train in peace beside a quiet canal, but close enough to reach Bangkok’s famous stadiums. The camp has produced its own fighters over the years and welcomed students from all over the world.

The big commercial gyms move hundreds of visitors through every week. Kiatphontip is run the opposite way — small numbers, so the trainers know your name and your level, and you train with the Thai fight team rather than in a separate tourist class.
Beginners, women, travellers and fighters all train together and eat together. That family atmosphere is what visitors mention most — and it is exactly what we want to protect.
