Training Muay Thai at Kiatphontip: an honest guide for newer students

Already got the basics and ready for the real thing? Here’s an honest look at training at an authentic Thai camp — and how to get the most from your time on the mats.

Kiatphontip is a real, working Thai camp — the same two sessions a day our fighters do, six days a week. It rewards students who arrive ready to train and keen to sharpen what they already know.

Best when you already have the fundamentals

If you have trained Muay Thai before and you are comfortable with the basics — your stance and guard, the jab and cross, teeps and kicks — you will settle in quickly and get enormous value from the coaching. Arriving with that grounding means you spend your time here refining technique, timing and conditioning rather than the very first steps.

Training scales to you

You will not be thrown into hard sparring on day one. Trainers meet you where you are, build your rounds around your level, and lift the pace as you find your rhythm. The stronger your foundation when you arrive, the more each session gives back.

An authentic pace, not a tourist class

This is traditional Thai training — real pad rounds, bag work, clinch and conditioning. It is rewarding, and it is meant to challenge you. Students who already understand the fundamentals tend to thrive here, because they can keep up with the rhythm of a genuine camp and put the trainers’ feedback to work straight away.

What you will get out of it

  • Sharper technique from one-on-one pad work with experienced Thai trainers
  • Real conditioning and fight-ready fitness from two sessions a day
  • Clinch and sparring you cannot get from a class-only gym
  • The experience of living and training inside an authentic Thai camp

Come with the basics, an open mind and a willingness to work, and Kiatphontip will take your Muay Thai to the next level.
